Counselling helps us to explore and make sense of psychological, emotional, behavioural, relationship and social challenges. Strategies and skills are learned to manage difficulties and to support positive change in all areas of life.
Alongside 27 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families, Anita holds an undergraduate degree in psychology, a master of counselling degree and a diploma of education from the University of Tasmania
We take a client-centred and strengths-based therapeutic approach, grounded in evidence-based modalities,including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), positive behaviour support (PBS), somatic therapy, play therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, cognitive coaching, positive psychology and psycho-education.
Anita is trained and experienced in delivering individual and group programs, including Social Confidence & Resilience for Children and Adolescents, Social Thinking Curriculum and Zones of Regulation.
